Russ (bottom left) poses for a Christmas Photo with his co-workers
at KCLE in the late-1950s. Owner George Marti was a pioneer in the
radio industry, developing the idea of remote pick-up broadcasting,
now referred to as electronic news gathering (ENG,) and conceived
the concept of microwave transmission of radio signals from studio
to transmitter (STL.) Fellow broadcaster Don Harris spent many
successful years at WBAP-AM, and "Captain" Mike Ambrose was
later an air personality at KLIF-AM
